Do You Need Shin Guards?

Virtually no member of Nashoba Youth Hockey should be buying shin guards, ever.   :)

This photo shows about 50 sets of shin guards that we have in storage, and it does not even include the really small ones or the really big ones that we own.   We've got about 70 sets in total, I'd guess... and that's after we threw out the garbage ones.

How to size shin guards:   The interior top of the shin pad has a circle where the knee bone should go.   Have your kid sit down on a chair while wearing skates, and put their knee bone right into this circle.  Does the pad go all the way down to the top of the skate, leaving no room (or at least VERY little room) for a stick or puck to get through and cause pain?   If so, you are good.  If not, send me an email, and you can check out a bigger one.    You can borrow a bigger set, make sure it's for you, and if not bring it back - no commitment.    :)     And it's all free to NYHA members.

Thanks!

Goaltending Clinics with Mike Geragosian

Mike Geragosian has been running very good goalie clinics around here for many years, and Nashoba goalies are welcome to walk-on to his current ones, which are held on Sunday mornings at Holland Arena on Salem Street in Woburn.   The walk-on cost is $60.

Goalies 13 and under skate from 9:50am to 10:50am.   Goalies 14+ skate from 11:00am to noon.

Mike's website is here, his email is aagcamp@aol.com and his phone number is 978-681-6355.

You may know that Mike held clinics at Skate3 for us last season on Friday nights in December and January.   We hope to make something like that happen again.   In the meantime, you can see him Sunday mornings any time you can make it.

GIVING BACK TO THE COMMUNITY: USED HOCKEY BAGS NEEDED

Be Like Brit, an amazing organization focused on providing the children of Haiti with safe and nurturing homes, is in need of gently used hockey bags!! (no holes or broken main compartment zippers)
Be Like Brit fills the hockey bags with 50 lbs of donated goods to transport as checked baggage with each volunteer traveling to Haiti.
If you have any to donate, please email mfriedman@nashobahockey.com and we will connect you to the organization to arrange for drop-off/pick-up.
Good People. Good Athletes. Good Hockey Players.
